Do yourself a favor and head down to Navy Pier and check out Cha Wa this weekend to cap off the World Music Festival happening in Chicago!

The two-time Grammy-nominated Cha Wa hits the stage at 4:20 Sunday afternoon, bringing you that funk of New Orleans band with an all-reverent of long-standing tradition, and are inspired by today’s social environment.

Deeply rooted in the cultural phenomenon that is the music of New Orleans, “Honey” Banister is renowned for his traditional and intricately designed Mardi Gras Indian headdress and regalia. Cha Wa blends infectious groove with pure joy.

Chicago’s World Music Festival features 34 performers from 22 countries and 11 venues across Chicago, the World Music Festival Chicago kicks off Friday, September 30 with the tenth Ragamala, the largest all-night presentation of live Indian classical music in the country.

The Festival continues Saturday with the Global Peace Picnic, commemorating International Day of Peace featuring eight bands on two stages at Humboldt Park.
