Exciting news from the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum of the Chicago Academy of Sciences! They’re rolling out their new exhibit called Wild World: Miracles in Conservation.

This exhibit is all about diving into the world of conservation, giving folks of all ages the chance to get up close and personal with various animal species, meet animal care experts, and delve into global efforts to protect endangered creatures.

What’s really cool is that these interactive exhibits were originally crafted by Science North International and have now been reimagined into a fresh experience by Little Ray’s, one of North America’s biggest exotic animal rescue organizations. And guess what? It’s the exhibit’s debut in Illinois!

By showcasing real-life stories of wildlife rehabilitation and conservation heroes from around the world, Wild World aims to leave visitors feeling inspired and educated about how they can contribute to conservation efforts locally. You’ll be able to catch this fantastic exhibit at the Nature Museum until June 9th.

Erin Amico, the President and CEO of the Nature Museum, couldn’t be more thrilled about it. She says, “We’re all about fostering unique connections with nature right here in the heart of Chicago, and Wild World is just the ticket for visitors of every age to get hands-on with animals and learn how global conservation efforts can make a difference in our own backyard.”

Now, let’s talk animals! From the cane toad to the crested gecko, ferret, and bumblebee dart frog, you’ll encounter a fascinating array of creatures chilling out in nature-inspired habitats. And don’t miss the chance to catch educational presentations by animal care specialists and even interact with some of the critters. Animal interactions will be happening three times a day from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Many of the animals you’ll meet have been rescued, confiscated, or abandoned, and the exhibit sheds light on how zoos, aquariums, and conservation groups have played a vital role in bringing threatened and endangered species back from the brink of extinction. Get ready to learn how to communicate like an elephant, eat like a panda, and save lives like a wildlife vet!
