Have we got a story for you…

The WGN Morning News is a beloved show among many Chicagoans, and a significant reason for its charm and humor is none other than Mike Toomey.

Since 2003, Mike Toomey has been an indispensable part of the WGN Morning News (9-10 am) team, serving as the witty and talented “Announcer” for the show. Over the years, he has become an everyday fixture on the program, captivating audiences with his comedic brilliance.

Not only is Mike a regular performer on WGN Morning News, but he has also shared the stage with legendary names such as George Carlin, Wayne Newton, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Reba McEntire. His comedic talents have also graced television screens, including appearances on HBO’s U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colorado, MTV’s Half Hour Comedy Hour, and A&E’s Comedy on the Road. Since 1982, Mike Toomey has been a favorite at comedy clubs and special events, known for his sharp delivery, quick wit, and unique style.

Born and raised in Carol Stream, Mike remains connected to his community through volunteering with Cal’s All-Star Angels Foundation, a charitable organization that fulfills wishes for children battling childhood cancer.

Beyond the spotlight, Mike finds his greatest joys in the company of his wife and four children, making his home in the Chicagoland area. When he’s not entertaining audiences or lending a helping hand, Mike’s passions include his love for Elvis, his dedication to the Cubs, his fondness for baseball, and, of course, his cherished family (not necessarily in that order).

So, make sure to catch Mike Toomey on the ‘ol number 9, brightening up your weekday mornings from Monday to Friday with his infectious humor and magnetic personality.
