By Tom Barnas
2/8/2025

Thirty years is something to celebrate, and Subterranean is pulling out all the stops with a one-day-only pop-up record store—happening today.

Teaming up with Val’s halla Records, SubT is transforming its first-floor lounge into a vinyl lover’s paradise, offering an afternoon of music, records, and community as part of its six-month-long #SubT30 anniversary celebration.

What to Expect:

  • Vinyl shopping

featuring a curated selection of artists who’ve graced SubT’s stage over the years.

  • Live music

from Chicago acts, keeping the energy high.

  • Val’s Vintage Sounderator

, a one-of-a-kind listening booth built from a repurposed walk-in freezer, where guests can experience hand-picked playlists celebrating SubT’s legacy.

  • Drink specials

to keep the good vibes flowing.

“Subterranean has been a cornerstone of Chicago’s music scene for three decades, welcoming fans from across the city and suburbs,” said Robert Gomez, owner of Subterranean. “Partnering with Val’s halla Records for this event is an exciting addition to our #SubT30 celebration.”

Don’t miss this chance to dig through vinyl, soak in the sounds, and celebrate a true Chicago institution.

When: Saturday, February 8 | 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Where: Subterranean, First-Floor Lounge
