Honoring the esteemed legacy of its predecessor, The Getaway breathes new life into the storied venue while preserving its essence. Designed by the acclaimed CBD Architects, the 2,500 square-foot space maintains its original layout while boasting an eclectic interior adorned with vintage flair. Accommodating up to 80 guests, the establishment features two TVs in the front bar area for entertainment.

At the heart of the space lies the main bar, a quintessential Chicago gem exuding timeless charm. Adorned with wood paneling, tambour detailing, and vintage mirrors, the bar area exudes warmth and hospitality. Illuminated by glowing liquor bottles and reeded glass, the ambiance is both inviting and nostalgic. Across from the bar, a long, slatted wood banquette and intimate high-top tables offer cozy seating options for patrons to savor their drinks and unwind.

Venturing into the back room lounge, patrons are transported to a realm of mid-century modern elegance with art deco influences. Wrapped in an enchanting green and gold floral motif, the space shimmers in the soft glow of ambient lighting. Anchored by a limestone fireplace—a beloved feature of The Grafton—the lounge invites guests to linger in comfort, offering an ideal setting for intimate conversations or a leisurely nightcap.

As for libations, The Getaway boasts a curated selection of 12 cocktails, each presented in playful glassware that rotates seasonally. Crafted by The Getaway team—comprising General Manager Gianna Peña, Operations Manager Sarah Crossley, and bartender Janet Tonyan—the cocktail menu showcases inventive concoctions such as the Smoke ‘em if You Got ‘em, the Cocorococonut, and The Getaway, each designed to tantalize the palate and ignite the senses.
