Join the Fun: 'Summer Camp' Sketch Revue Premieres This Friday
Do you remember spending summers at camp as a kid? Ever worked at a summer camp? Always wanted to go? Sorry Improv presents Summer Camp: A Sketch Revue, a nostalgic and hilarious show that brings all the best memories and characters from summer camp to life.
Summer Camp: A Sketch Revue explores the excitement and terrors of working at and attending sleepaway camp through the eyes of counselors, parents, campers, and even the camp ghost(s). This show promises to put a new twist on those cherished summer memories.
Opening at iO Theater’s Weed Cabaret on Friday, June 14 and running through July 19, each performance will transport audience members to a nature-filled, silly, and unpredictable summer camp experience. Led by a staff that can only be described as glorified babysitters, you’ll sing camp songs, make friendship bracelets, and laugh out loud with Sorry Improv.
Formed in January 2023 by iO’s New Team Smell, Sorry Improv is composed of multi-talented Chicago performers Francesca Bucci, Hayden Burke, Anderson Freitas, Elizabeth Fulton, John More, Anna Ross, Danny Sabo, Mitch Shepperd, and Diana Smith. The show is co-produced by Francesca Bucci, Anna Ross, and Jack Stalter, and directed by Francesca Bucci. Summer Camp: A Sketch Revue guarantees an engaging and hilarious show filled with nostalgia.
Since 1981, iO Theater has inspired and trained generations of America’s greatest comedic talents, including Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Jason Sudeikis, and Tim Meadows. Located at 1501 N Kingsbury in Lincoln Park, iO Theater remains a staple of the Chicago comedy community.
