Good Grief, Chicago! The Peanuts Gang Takes Over the Chicago Children’s Museum with an Immersive Exhibit for All Ages

When you walk through the doors of the Chicago Children’s Museum this fall, don’t be surprised if you feel a little like Charlie Brown stepping onto the pitcher’s mound — full of heart, hope, and maybe a little chaos. The new Take Care with Peanuts: The Exhibit drops visitors straight into the comic-strip universe of Charles M. Schulz, blending classic nostalgia with modern lessons in kindness, empathy, and environmental care.

This isn’t your average museum display. It’s a full-on, hands-on experience where fans young and old can explore 15+ immersive sections inspired by the Peanuts world. Here, Lucy’s psychiatric booth doubles as a crash course in self-care, Schroeder’s piano invites spontaneous jam sessions, and even Pigpen’s mess turns into a composting masterclass. You can lace up for an indoor ice-skating adventure with the gang, or just hang out and soak in the comic-inspired visuals that make every corner photo-worthy.

Built on the global “Take Care with Peanuts” initiative — launched to inspire people to take care of themselves, each other, and the planet — this traveling exhibition was created by the Miami Children’s Museum in collaboration with Peanuts Worldwide. The goal? To remind us that the same spirit that made Schulz’s work timeless — friendship, empathy, and a sense of humor about life’s curveballs — still resonates today.

And while the museum may be known as a place for kids, Take Care with Peanuts offers something more universal: a return to joy, imagination, and the simple truths that connect generations. Whether you’re a lifelong fan of Snoopy or introducing your kids to the gang for the first time, this exhibit is a love letter to Schulz’s genius — and a celebration of the heart behind every “Good grief!”

Take Care with Peanuts: The Exhibit runs September 13, 2025 – January 4, 2026 at the Chicago Children’s Museum, Navy Pier.

One adult (18+) and one child are required for museum entry.
