Polka your way to Oktoberfest Chicago at St. Alphonsus Church in West Lakeview, where one of the city’s most beloved fall celebrations returns for its 22nd year of Bavarian fun! From September 27-29, the heart of Chicago’s German community will once again come alive with lively music, authentic food, and plenty of beer.
Located at the intersection of Wellington, Lincoln, and Southport Avenues, St. Alphonsus Church has stood as a beacon of Chicago’s vibrant German heritage for 141 years since its founding in 1882. Generations of German immigrants settled in Lakeview, finding community at St. Alphonsus. Today, the church proudly shares its rich cultural history with all of Chicago during this spirited Oktoberfest celebration.
Savor the Three B’s: Beer, Brats, and Bretzeln!
Get ready to indulge in the flavors of Bavaria! Enjoy savory bratwurst and giant pretzels made from traditional recipes passed down through generations. Pair these delicious bites with a stein of Sam Adams, featuring a variety of seasonal beers, including their crowd-pleasing Oktoberfest brew.

With two stages offering a mix of Chicago’s top festival bands, you’ll hear everything from pop hits to traditional polka tunes, creating the perfect soundtrack for your Oktoberfest experience.
Don’t Miss the Craft Beer Tasting!
For craft beer enthusiasts, the festival offers special Craft Beer Tasting sessions inside the historic beer hall at St. Alphonsus Church. On Friday, September 27, from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, September 28, from 4-7 p.m., enjoy 15 tastings and receive a commemorative glass to take home!
