Celebrate Fall Year-Round With A Coffee Flight At Chicago’s Cozy, LGBTQ+IA-Owned October Café

Chicago’s only fall-themed café, October Café, is where every visit begins with a warm “Hello Pumpkin.” As the café approaches its first anniversary, it’s become a beloved spot in the city, celebrating the best season Chicago has to offer all year round. Located in the Norwood Park neighborhood, this LGBTQ+IA, Latina-operated gem is owned by Audrey Borden and her fiancée, Michelle Gonzalez, who run it alongside their family.

October Café isn’t just about its cozy autumn vibes—it’s a place of inclusivity and community. The café proudly serves strong, high-quality brews sourced from the local Dark Matter Coffee, and offers an array of delicious food and pastries, including options from Defloured Gluten Free Bakery in Andersonville. Their menu features comforting favorites like avocado toast, hummus toast, a pesto panini, and oatmeal, with a kids’ menu offering classics like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and grilled cheese.

One of the café’s standout features is its coffee flights—a concept typically reserved for breweries and wineries. At October Café, you can sample a variety of specialty drinks year-round, not just during the pumpkin spice season. The “We Fell In Love In October” flight offers a taste of the café’s four signature drinks: a unique twist on the Pumpkin Spice Latte, Maple Forest, Cozy VP Chai Tea Latte, and Cuddle Weather.

With seating for about 30 patrons and a commitment to welcoming everyone through its doors, October Café is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the magic of fall no matter the time of year.
