Saturday night’s first-of-its-kind, ice cream party-themed drone light show at Navy Pierpromises to be quite spectacular. And a fitting highlight to a day filled with National Ice Cream Month festivities, including a free, public ice cream social in Polk Bros Park.

Navy Pier will ring in its 107th birthday with the Pier’s first-ever drone light show, featuring 300 rapidly- spinning drones. Coinciding with National Ice Cream Month (July), the free “Sweeten Your Summer with Blue Bunny and Halo Top” drone light show will consist of 10 minutes of ice cream-themed animations and end with a scannable QR code large enough cover an entire city block. The QR code will allow guests to access a special offer at Jewel/Osco just in time for National Ice Cream Day (July 16).

Earlier this afternoon, Blue Bunny and Halo Top will host a free, public ice cream social in Polk Bros Park. Guests are welcome to enjoy a treat-sized Bomb Pop, Blue Ribbon Classics, Halo Top, or Blue Bunny Ice Cream and explore Navy Pier ahead of the drone light show and Saturday night fireworks spectacular.
