Navy Pier To Unveil New Interactive Art Installation, 'Solstice'
Looking for something to do with the family that is absolutely FREE? You’ll want to check out Solstice.
Inspired by solar and planetary movements, SOLSTICE is a monumental interactive art installation that invites visitors to take control of the environment around them. After activating a giant spinning globe, participants pick their path through a series of doors, each creating a distinct array of glowing light and sound. Whether energized by the mind-bending challenge of an ever-changing puzzle, or wrapped in esoteric contemplation of parallel dimensions, visitors will be captivated by this one-of-a-kind immersive experience. SOLSTICE is open free to the public during all Pier hours.
SOLSTICE is the creation of Montreal-based digital art studio Iregular. Founded in 2010, Iregular creates audiovisual installations, large-scale sculptures, architectural projections, and scenographies, with a focus on interactive and immersive experiences. At the crossroads between art and technology, these artworks experiment with geometry, light, sound, typography, mathematics, algorithms, communication protocols, AI, and machine learning, and have been exhibited in 25 countries across the globe.
