Milk & Holly Home offers seasonal treasures and a personal touch in its debut holiday collection
It’s that time of year when holiday parties are in full swing, and the search for the perfect gift is on. This week’s Story from the 78 takes us to Edgewater, where a charming new vintage décor shop has opened its doors. Milk & Holly Home, located at 1208 W. Thorndale Ave., is the passion project of Holly Beaudry, who left a career in HR to pursue her dream of curating unique treasures for the home.
The store’s name is a clever twist on “milk and honey,” but it also holds personal significance for Beaudry. It pays homage to milk glass, an antique favorite that connects her to her late father. Over the years, she collected the shop’s inventory—everything from vintage finds to seasonal accents—storing them in garages and storage units until the dream of Milk & Holly Home became a reality.
Step inside, and you’ll feel the warm embrace of a perfectly styled gathering space. With the creative touch of her friend and collaborator Mark King, the store’s design exudes a sense of effortless home entertaining. Currently brimming with holiday-themed items, the collection will shift with the seasons. Beaudry is already planning disco balls for New Year’s and nautical-inspired pieces for summer, ensuring there’s always something fresh and inspiring to discover.
One particularly meaningful item in the shop—a piece passed down from her grandmother—serves as the heart of the store and a daily reminder of the family and memories that sparked this journey.
Milk & Holly Home is open noon-6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Whether you’re looking for a unique holiday gift or simply want to soak in its welcoming atmosphere, this new Edgewater gem is well worth a visit.
