The long-awaited moment has arrived – the Guinness Open Gate Brewery Chicago is now open!

Nestled at 901 W Kinzie, this multifaceted establishment seamlessly combines a brewery, taproom, restaurant, and bakery within the confines of a sprawling 15,000-square-foot former rail depot in the vibrant West Loop neighborhood. The visionaries behind this transformation, Designer Karen Herold of Studio K Creative and Principal Rick Joutras of Whitney Architects, have artfully married the elements of tradition and modernity, revitalizing the long-abandoned structure into a cutting-edge brewery and restaurant venue. A highlight of this space is its expansive patio, featuring a staircase reminiscent of Chicago’s iconic Riverwalk steps.

This brewery harmoniously melds over 260 years of Guinness brewing heritage with the forefront of American brewing innovation, resulting in an exclusively Chicagoan experience. Visitors can anticipate an ever-evolving selection of experimental draughts brewed on-site, complemented by timeless favorites such as the iconic Guinness Draught Stout, direct from the heart of Dublin. Under the guidance of Brewer Megan Schwarz, the Chicago brewing team operates a 10-barrel brewhouse, with their initial offerings including the Corn Maize Cream Ale, crafted using corn sourced from Illinois’s Iroquois County, alongside the Kinzie Street Pale Ale and Mango Chile Ale.

The culinary narrative at Guinness OGB Chicago is entrusted to the expert hands of Dream Team Hospitality, with Chef Taylor Bischof at the helm. Drawing inspiration from the brewery’s Irish heritage and global influences, the food menu offers a tantalizing fusion of flavors, while also paying homage to beloved Chicago classics, such as the imaginative Chicago Caviar, a delightful twist on the classic giardiniera dip. Beyond the delectable fare, Guinness OGB Chicago extends its offerings to encompass morning bakery and café services, an all-day restaurant menu, and a weekend brunch that adds to the allure of this dynamic establishment.
