Celebrate 40 Years of Ed Debevic’s: Chicago’s Iconic Retro Diner Turns Back the Clock
Chicago’s beloved retro diner, Ed Debevic’s, is marking its 40th anniversary this November, offering an exciting opportunity to showcase a truly unique piece of the city’s history. Since 1984, Ed’s has been serving up classic diner fare with a side of sass, featuring snarky servers, choreographed dance routines, and a playful 1950s vibe. More than just a diner, Ed Debevic’s is a true Chicago institution!
The 40th-anniversary celebration will include special appearances, including Chicago’s own Svengoolie, who will be available from 5 PM to 7 PM for photos and autographs. Guests can enjoy contests throughout the day, such as hula hoop, limbo, trivia, and an ice cream eating competition, plus a live DJ spinning hits from the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, and more.
Adding to the nostalgia, Ed Debevic’s will bring back its original Blue Plate Specials. Guests are encouraged to dress up in their retro best from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s—ready to revel in the lively atmosphere of this one-of-a-kind diner celebration!
