From Kenwood to Your Neighborhood: Duey Juice Expands Beyond Chicago

By Tom Barnas

We’ve all had that moment at some point in our lives where we make something pretty damn good and think to ourselves, “I could totally sell this.” Most people don’t—but Nate Duhon did.

From running to the liquor store repeatedly to perfect his mix to collaborating with a recipe architect, Duey Juice started in the parks of the Kenwood neighborhood and has now made its way to grocery and liquor stores across the region.

The Chicago-based beverage company, known for its rum-based cocktails, is expanding beyond Illinois, bringing its drinks to stores in Wisconsin and Michigan.

Founded by Duhon in 2019, the company began as a homemade punch served at family kickball games in Kenwood Community Park. The cocktails, known for their 10% alcohol content and real fruit juice, are currently available in about 90 Chicago-area liquor stores, including chains like Binny’s and Mariano’s.

Duey Juice offers two flavors: a tropical blend of mango and citrus and a blueberry lemonade. A third flavor, strawberry guava with a hint of lime, is set to launch in May, coinciding with the company’s regional expansion.

Cheers!
