Drew Wiegman, a self-taught improvisational cellist and viral TikTok sensation, will return to his hometown for two performances at the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts at the College of Lake County. The concerts will take place on Saturday, March 29, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 30, at 3 p.m.

Wiegman, who plays the cello entirely by ear without formal classical training, has gained recognition for his spontaneous and deeply emotive compositions. His music has drawn the attention of television, classical radio, as well as a global online audience.

“I learned at my own pace and want to show the world that anyone can accomplish their dreams if they are willing to put in the effort and define what music can be for them,” Wiegman said. “My goal is to create music that stirs the heart and soul, inspiring others along the way.”

The concerts will feature a diverse setlist, including iconic film scores, popular hits, and original compositions. Fans from across the country are expected to attend.

“I’m honored to have built a worldwide audience of over 750,000 followers and am excited to share this special concert with my hometown,” Wiegman said.

Wiegman’s music is available for streaming on Apple Music, Amazon, Pandora, Spotify, YouTube, and TikTok.

The James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts is located at 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake, Illinois.
