1980s Miami Vice inspired Common Decency

Common Decency aims to reintroduce genuine decency into the hospitality industry, focusing on work-life balance and progressive benefits for employees. The restaurant features chef-inspired menus that accommodate common dietary restrictions, creating a positive environment for everyone.

Taking inspiration from 1980s Miami, Common Decency reimagines the iconic space with a playful and fun approach to its offerings. Mark Steuer leads the kitchen, while Kelsey Kasper and Jason Turley manage the beverage program.

“I’m excited to have partners who are as invested as I am with the same goals and vision,” Steuer said.

Common Decency’s beverage menu is crafted with approachability and inclusivity in mind. Organized by alcohol content, it offers a thoughtful selection ranging from non-alcoholic cocktails to high-proof options, ensuring every guest feels included. As more people explore reduced alcohol consumption or abstention, the menu ensures they never feel like an afterthought. Each season, guests can expect a selection of delicious, seasonal cocktails that remain accessible and enjoyable for all.

The entirely gluten-free food menu caters to various diets, featuring vegetarian items (as Turley is vegetarian) and gluten-free options (as Kasper follows a gluten-free diet). Highlights include:

  • Mushroom French Dip: Spit-roasted portobello mushrooms, horseradish mayo, gruyere, mushroom jus.
  • Felipe’s 7 Layer Dip: Butter bean hummus, marinated Castelvetrano olives, preserved tomato, avocado crema, queso fresco, peanut-free salsa macha.
  • Dumpling Cacio e Pepe: Gluten-free gnudi, parmesan, romano, three peppercorns.
  • Thrice Cooked Wings: Eight wings, house buffalo sauce, ramp ranch.
  • Roasted Oysters: Mustard greens, pork belly, Bagna càuda, gluten-free breadcrumbs.

The cocktail list is divided into three sections: Cocktails, Low-Alcohol, and Spirit-Free, allowing all guests to join in the fun. The beer and wine lists complement the menu perfectly.

Signature drinks include:

  • Afternoon Sun: Prolijo mezcal, Aeired pomelo liqueur, Mommenpop Seville Orange, lemon, bubbles.
  • Barbershop Celebrity: Coconut-washed Zubrowka vodka, mango, Thai basil, sticky rice, lime.
  • Silk Teddy: Citadelle gin, Apologue celery root, Gamle Ode dill aquavit, cocchi americano.
  • Out of Office: Alessio bianco vermouth, Matchbook strawberry amaro, carpano antica, agua de piedra.
  • Divine Idol: Three Spirit Livener, N.O. Spirit, raspberry, thyme, pineapple.

The bar’s interior is vibrant and colorful, with no detail overlooked. A row of tables along the wall opposite the show-stopping bar is accompanied by banquette seating upholstered in teal animal print fabric. The back of the space features an instant party atmosphere with a disco ball and photo booth, creating a lively backdrop for both relaxed afternoon drinks and unforgettable nights out.

Common Decency sets a new standard in hospitality, blending thoughtful inclusivity with playful elegance, making it a must-visit destination.
