The 2025 Chicagoland Indie Bookstore Day Challenge is back—and better than ever! Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 26, 2025, when Independent Bookstore Day (IBD) takes over the greater Chicago area with a celebration made for book lovers of all ages.

Once again, Chicagoland proves why it’s a literary dream destination. Over 50 independent bookstores—from Lake Forest to Beverly, Libertyville to the Loop—are joining forces for the annual Chicagoland Bookstore Crawl, inviting readers to explore, discover, and support the vibrant indie bookstore scene.

Start your journey at any participating bookstore to pick up your official passport and receive your first stamp.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:

Plan your route using the official crawl map, featuring all participating stores.

Collect stamps at each new store you visit throughout the day—no purchase necessary (though supporting these amazing shops is always encouraged!).

THE REWARDS:

Visit 10 bookstores in one day and earn 10% off at all participating stores for an entire year.

Visit 15 bookstores and earn 15% off for the whole year!

Complete your crawl by showing your passport at your final stop and receive an exclusive, limited-edition sticker as a badge of honor.
