In honor of National Firefighters’ Appreciation Day (officially recognized on Sunday, May 4), hundreds of Chicago firefighters will gather for a meaningful morning of celebration and remembrance. The event will feature:
- A complimentary brunch for members of the Chicago Fire Department, as well as representatives from Ignite the Spirit, the Chicago Fire Department Foundation, and the Gold Badge Society—organizations that support firefighter families and recruits.
- Live student art presentation from children at Old St. Mary’s School, showcasing artwork honoring the bravery and sacrifice of local firefighters.
- This public event celebrates the dedication of Chicago’s first responders while recognizing The Chicago Firehouse Restaurant’s 25th anniversary and its historic roots as Engine Company 104.
- A special CFD roll call and salute at 8:00 AM in front of the restaurant, honoring the life and service of the late Captain David Meyer.
