By
10/6/2023

Officially endorsed by the World Karting Association (WKA), the same governing body overseeing Formula 1, the AEKC series extends an inclusive invitation for aspiring champions. Kevin Williams, President of WKA, firmly believes in the WKA’s commitment to providing opportunities for all in karting, including E-Karting. He notes, “The decision to sanction The American E-Karting Championship Powered by Monster Energy was an obvious one.”

Karting, the gateway to motorsport for racing icons like Jeff Gordon and Lewis Hamilton, offers a low-barrier entry for enthusiasts of all backgrounds. As AEKC Commissioner Donald Wagner emphasizes, “No special equipment or sponsorship is required. All you need to do is show up.” Moreover, the equality of competition is underlined by the identical nature of karts on the track, ensuring that every participant has an equal shot at victory. The AEKC proudly boasts a diverse participant base, spanning various ages and professions, with competitors ranging from 13 to 48 years old in past events.

Jim Garrett, President/CEO of the Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau, shares the excitement of hosting such an enjoyable event. He expresses his enthusiasm, saying, “This event promises not only exhilaration for participants but also a thrilling experience for fans. We are delighted to welcome them back to Chicago Southland.”
