Antojos On Wheels In Humboldt Park

By
8/8/2023

This Humboldt Park food truck has had a journey:

Nestled at the bustling corner of California and Lemoyne for an impressive three decades, our beloved food truck stands as a testament to the rich culinary heritage of Puerto Rican flavors. A cherished icon in the community, it has been a source of delectable delights, evoking a sense of nostalgia and joy in the hearts of those who visit.

This culinary haven, which had once been lovingly overseen by its original owner, now rests under new ownership after a period of closure following their unfortunate passing three years ago. With unwavering dedication and a deep appreciation for the truck’s legacy, they breathed new life into its essence just last year.

For thirty years, Antojos On Wheels food truck has not only served mouthwatering Puerto Rican (jibarito anyone?) cuisine but has also woven itself into the fabric of the community’s collective memory. Weekends are colored with anticipation as locals and visitors alike make the pilgrimage from as far as Indiana and Wisconsin, drawn irresistibly by the promise of their authentic culinary creations. The enticing aroma and flavors that emanate from our truck act as a magnetic force, pulling in patrons from all walks of life, transcending borders and backgrounds.

It’s a heartwarming sight to witness patrons, whether they hail from Puerto Rico or any corner of the globe, be transported back to their cherished memories of indulging in our delectable offerings during their youthful Chicago days. The spark that ignites in their eyes, the moment of contentment that graces their faces – these are the rewarding treasures that embolden their culinary journey.

Get the jibarito when you go…with the steak.

Find them almost every day, right outside of Humboldt Park on California and Lemoyne.
