If you’re anything like me, cabin fever is setting in, and it’s time to get out! Why not head to Lake Geneva for Winterfest this weekend? You can even hit the slopes—yes, skiing in the Midwest! Add an indoor water park, and you’ve got a full-blown winter getaway.

The Mountain Top at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa is open for the 2024-25 season, weather permitting. One of the Midwest’s premier skiing and snow sports destinations, The Mountain Top is debuting a new high-capacity well, doubling its snow-making ability. The upgrade will allow for continuous snowmaking, improving slope conditions, increasing ski days and enhancing the overall experience for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels.

“We are excited to introduce this new snow-making capability, which will allow us to make more of our own snow and provide more reliable ski days,” said Ryan Brown, director of ski and golf at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. “This investment reflects our continued dedication to offering an incredible winter getaway for guests.”

Brown, Grand Geneva’s PGA professional and director of golf operations, recently expanded his role to oversee The Mountain Top during the winter season.

Recognized as one of Wisconsin’s top family-friendly snow sports destinations, The Mountain Top offers a variety of activities, including sledding, ice skating, and both private and group ski lessons. Equipment rentals are also available.
