Who doesn’t love a good food challenge? Do you think you can eat 4 pounds of spaghetti and meatballs?
In celebration of National Meatball Day, Bar Roma in Andersonville will hold their third annual eating competition on Thursday, March 9. Starting at 7 p.m., participants will be challenged to race their way through a massive bowl of spaghetti and manzo (beef) meatballs, a specialty of Chef Fred Ramos.
The first person to finish the bowl will receive a $100 cash prize, along with Bar Roma merchandise, restaurant gift cards, and more. Prizes will also be awarded to the second and third-place competitors. The eating contest entry fee is $20 per person. To reserve your spot, call Bar Roma at 773-942-7572.
Dining guests and spectators may enjoy half-priced “Spaghetti e Polpette” on March 9 from 4:30-9:30 p.m. Chef Ramos’ signature dish features hand-rolled spaghetti with Pomodoro sauce and beef meatballs ($12, regularly $24).
