CHICAGO:

Surf’s Up at The Malibu Barbie Cafe!

Chicago Bucket List, is pleased to announce they will soon be making waves with The Malibu Barbie Cafe, inviting fans of all ages to experience Mattel’s iconic brand like never before. Following the sold-out success of their tour of The Golden Girls Kitchen, the brand continues to set their sights on innovating the experiential space.

“Bucket Listers is honored to bring The Malibu Barbie Cafe to life,” says CEO and Founder Andy Lederman. “We pride ourselves on creating exclusive experiences for our community of 15 million + fans, concepts they won’t find anywhere else. Barbie has proven to be one of history’s ultimate icons, we just couldn’t pass up this chance to bring her world to life.”

“We are delighted to announce the opening of The Malibu Barbie Café, a truly unique dining experience that celebrates the Barbie brand and all she represents.” said Julie Freeland, Senior Director of Location Based Entertainment at Mattel “At Mattel we are always looking for exciting, new ways to bring the Barbie experience to life. From the beach-loving décor to the menu, every detail has been thoughtfully designed to celebrate the iconic Barbie style.”

The project is spearheaded by Bucket Listers VP of Experiences, Derek Berry (the mastermind behind nostalgic pop-up phenomenon Saved by the Max, Good Burger, and The Peach Pit). The family-friendly pop-up restaurant will be inspired by the groovy beachside energy of 1970s Malibu, California, when Malibu Barbie, the beach-bound doll made its debut in 1971.

Opening June 7th, The Malibu Barbie Cafe allows guests to experience the ultimate form of Barbie-inspired dining. The Malibu Barbie Cafe will be a fast-casual restaurant (a food menu created by Master Chef semi-finalist Becky Brown) emphasizing all day brunch, friendly fare, delicious desserts, and a variety of drinks. The pop-up will also come complete with exclusive merchandise and a variety of signature photo moments for fans to interact with.

Every ticket purchase will include a reserved seat and a guaranteed window of time to dine and entree of their choice. Tickets for the restaurant will be available to the public starting April 19th exclusively through Bucket Listers.
