PORTAGE PARK:

Get ready for a captivating journey into a world of magical puppets, inventive storytelling, and endless clouds! Cloud Man boasts exquisite puppetry and invites its audience to embark on an adventure to the very summit of Cloud Mountain, where breathtaking views await at every turn. Narrated by the knowledgeable cloud expert, Cloudia, who has always had her head in the clouds, the story unfolds as she shares her lifelong dream of encountering the elusive Cloud Man—a rare creature who resides tranquilly amidst the lofty skies.

This ingeniously staged production, led by a single performer alongside enchanting puppets and captivating storytelling, delves into our quest to comprehend the complexities of the world around us. Cloud Man encourages spectators to marvel at the beauty and marvel of everyday life, offering a gentle reminder of the importance of cherishing our environment without seeking to dominate it.

Reji Simon, Filament’s Producing Artistic Director, expresses excitement about the partnership with Constellation Points to bring Cloud Man to life at Filament. This collaboration has sparked a delightful exploration of nature’s enchantment and its mysteries, prompting thoughtful reflections on our responsibilities towards the world we inhabit.

While Cloud Man is tailored for young audience members aged 4-7, Filament extends a warm welcome to family members of all ages to join in the wonder. Central to Filament’s mission is the creation of new works not just for, but with, young audiences. Through school residencies and Filament workshops, young minds will delve into the play’s themes, fostering creativity and engagement with pre- and post-show activities.

Cloud Man will grace the stage on Saturdays at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. from March 16 through April 14. Please note there will be no performance on March 31. An inclusive sensory-friendly performance is scheduled for April 6 at 11 a.m., and field trip options are available. Secure your tickets now at www.filamenttheatre.org for an unforgettable experience amidst the clouds.
